Just a leaf
I ask, what you see?
A leaf. Just a leaf, you say.
I offer you what I see…
Life, death, all in-between.
Spring, Summer, Autumn.
Winter missing, hibernating.
I see me, I see you, I see past.
Insects home, becometh food.
Fire, water, even ice falling.
The rustling echo of wind.
Returned to earth, feeding.
Energy, light, scars from sun.
Green, brown and amber hue.
I hear crinkles under toes.
Laughter in kiddies throws.
Dogs rolling, painted prints.
I’m feeling life, I feel love.
You felt, just a leaf.
Do you see me?
